III Forks (Boca Raton)

Posted on June 7th, 2009 · American Boca Raton Seafood

*****  III Forks, 200 East Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33432 (561) 416-2185.

III Forks is an “upscale-white tablecloth-steakhouse”…there are currently 4 locations, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, Austin, Texas and Dallas, Texas. If you check, back on December 23, 2008 I did a writeup on the III Forks located in Palm Beach Gardens. III Forks’ website www.iiiforks.com has menu/prices.

Last night, I gave the III Forks’ Boca location a shot. The joint which has only been open for something like 6 weeks is running like a fine watch…the food and service are terrific. The joint seats 272 with 4 separate dining rooms and an out-door patio.

What makes III Forks an especially beautiful-thing…the restaurant, unlike many of its steakhouse brethern, doesn’t try to take its customers’ eyeballs out of their heads…by charging “highway robbery” prices for every side dish known to mankind. III Forks’ game (quoting from the menu), “All entrees served with duchess potatoes, sugar snap peas, off-the cob cream corn, ripe tomatoes and spring onions.”

For sure, an 18 oz. bone-in ribeye is gonna run you $47.95 and 2 crabcakes will set you back $31.95…but unless you are a glutton for punishment and need-to-order sides not included in the deal, you are going to get a great meal for a sensible number. By the way, on those included-sides…you can have as “much” as you’d like.

Last night’s “taste test”…house salad (lettuce, walnuts, apples, blue cheese) bone-in ribeye, crabcakes, New York strip, dover sole, chocolate cake, cheesecake…excellent. On the service front, a professional-waitstaff that doesn’t take itself too seriously…and a team of managers who visit every table, to make sure that everything is A-Ok.

So…if you are looking for top-notch steaks-seafood, III Forks -got you covered in Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens.

 III Forks is open Monday-Thursday 5pm-10pm, Friday-Saturday 5pm-11pm and Sunday 5pm-9pm.

Been schelping up to the Palm Beach Gardens’ location for the past year. It’s a trip from Pompano Beach. The new Boca location is a perfect distance for me. Found this place in Dallas a while back and really enjoyed the food. Mind you it is not a cheap date but the food is excellent and the service is great. Getting the sides included really minimizes the damage. It is as good if not better as all of the places listed by “rs”. Give iii a try.

In my area there are a handful of steak restaurants. Probably too many. I have eaten in a lot of them and basically they are all the same. Good steaks. Good sides. Enormous prices. The way I figure it, iiiForks is the best value because most of the sides that I like come with the entree.

Personally, I think Prime 112 on South Beach is one of the top steakhouses in the country.

jeff, food is fair. waiter stunk.

They changed the concept. No more “free” sides. Not as good as other steakhouses in Boca. Won’t make it through the season.

  11. Norma Hauptman says...

I agree with Jeff and Eric. The sides were all extra and not so great. I liked my salad but the service was soooo slow..It took us over 3 hours to get our food served. We only got our menus after an hour to order. I had steak it was not great and the fish eaters at my table said it had no taste. I prefer Ruth Chris in City Place.

Boca last night. The included sides are gone. The food is alright but NY Prime is the best in the area. Really not worth the money. Check this out, you order shrimp cocktail and the sauce is already on top when it hits the table. Bad!!!

Jeff, have you tried Chris Michael’s in Boca? It’s on the corner of Dixie Hwy and Palmetto Park. Just curious what your thoughts were.

Bill: Just had a chance to read your post.
Haven’t tried Chris Michael’s yet. Have it on “to do” list. Have you eaten there? If you have, what say you?

    Thanks for reading…

  15. McGee says...

Jeff, Do you dine in these restaurants more than once? I was just curious if your opinion is based on multiple visits.
    Thanks.

McGee: Just had a chance to read your post.

To answer your question, I have dined in some of the restaurants once and some of them many times. All depends. If I have been there more than once, it is mentioned in the review. I will tell you, if a restaurant goes from bad to good—I will up date the review.

    Thanks for reading…

We’ve stopped going to steathouses because we are dissapointed at least half the time. For a no nonsense really great steak pick up some prime meat at Costco and grill it yourself. Never a bad experience and no tip required.

I got a gift certificate for this place as a wedding gift and now it is closed! >:( I hope the “schlep” to PBG or Hallendale is worth it.
