Hot Tomatoe Italian Wine Bistro (Deerfield Beach)

*****  Hot Tomatoe Italian Wine Bistro, 626 South Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, Florida 33441 (954) 785-5058.

Got a real-good “mom & pop” Italian joint for you…Hot Tomatoe Italian Wine Bistro in Deerfield Beach. Personally, I think that this joint’s name stinks, but that’s the only complaint here. Hot Tomatoe serves really good stuff and yes, it has a nice-sized list of Italian-wines.

Check Hot Tomatoe’s website www.hottomatoe.com for menu/prices.

A recent “taste test” of chicken marsala, veal parmigiana, veal piccata, zuppe di pesce and cheese ravioli was right on the money. Just so you know, Hot Tomatoe’s pastas, breads and mozzarrella are all made-in house. Nice sized portions. Very pleasant wait-staff. Neighborhood pizza joint prices.  The joint’s decor is a “step above” pizza  joint-formica. Your tee shirt/shorts’ ensemble will work.

I really enjoyed this joint. Unlike most “mom & pop” joints…the stuff here isn’t massed produced. Everything is made to order. The menu is a-bit limited, but you will definitely find something to eat.

Hot Tomatoe is open for lunch, Monday-Friday 11am-2pm and for dinner, Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-10pm, Friday & Saturday 5:30pm-10:30pm and Sunday. One final thought, Hot Tomatoe has a very-loyal following…so, on Friday and Saturday nights, I would book a reservation.

The owner and staff at this place are very rude. The food is also horrible. Stay away from this place. It is filthy! I’d rather eat Chef Boyardee, it is much better!

Sorry Jeff, I must disagree with your paid for comments! This place is very dirty, my sister and I came during an early bird dinner. The light was still shining through the very dusty shades, and we happened to observe the floors. Oh lord, we saw dead cock roaches laying there and some still moving, as it appears they were just fumigated. This was disgusting, but we have already ordered wine and didn’t want to leave. The owner, Elza..? Elsie? Had the hands of a man, which makes me believe she probably is a man, had a deep voice and was just gross looking. We overheard her screaming at someone in the kitchen, I’d hate to be working for someone like that! She has no class. We had a bad dinner experience, because the whole pasta dinner was messed up. I asked for whole wheat, I got white pasta instead. The dinner was mediocre. Wine glasses were stained with lipstick and water, never wiped prior to serving. My sister didn’t like her food either. We will NEVER come back to that hole in the wall, which we hoped would have nice grandma’s kitchen meals. Very disappointed, next time -Olive Garden, food is ALWAYS guaranteed to be fresh and perfect!
