Sage Bagel & Restaurant Company (Hallandale Beach)

*****  Sage Bagel & Restaurant Company, 800 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009, (954) 456-7499.

Sage Bagel has been around since 1972. I have been stuffing my face at this kosher-style deli since 1972…Governor Crist should declare this joint a State Landmark…Pumpernick’s—gone. Rascal House—gone. Sage is one of the few old-timers still around.

Great bagels. Great appetizing. Great deli meats. Great ambiance. Great everything.

Unfortunately…Sage is about 30 miles from my home, so I can’t “spend” as much time as I would like eating at this joint. I try to get down to the Sage at least 5-6 times a year for breakfast. Today, I was down in Hallandale checking out the Gulfstream Park casino-development and that gave me the perfect opportunity to stop in at the Sage.

This joint is a throw-back to another time. I am telling you, be smart and make it your business to eat breakfast/lunch at the Sage. It will remind many of you of the days long gone, when there were appetizing stores, neighborhood delis and mom & pop diners.

Sage is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

    Hi Jeff~

I am sooo lucky I live 5 minutes from my beloved sage and it’s the only, I mean only place I get bagels from about every other sunday. Bakers Dozen will set you back $13.00 but Let me tell you, I would spend $2.00 for their bagels. At least its cheaper than a gallon of gas! This is a Cant miss for breakfast and its truly reliable!
Once again Jeff you score with this one!

I have to agree with my sister( the above noter). Sage is awesome. The only thing I can give or take is the attitude from some of the older deli counterhelp. I once ordered 1/4lb of lox and got major attitude. Puhleese, it was still 10 bucks!!

You’re lucky your only 30 miles away, I’m over 1,000 miles away so I make due with the bagels from my freezer.

    Hey Jeff,
Do you think a CLEAN, WELL RUN, NY style, bagel shop, in Hallandale can give sage a run for the money. Obviously the bagels need to be the big well done, crispy outside, doughy middle and the other products which I will not devulge need to be authentic….
I ve been in the food biz for a longtime and we know each other, but without knowing who I’am, I’m curious to what you think…..

mike: Just had a chance to read your post. I’ll take a shot that I know exactly who you are. If you run that bagel store like you run your current restaurant, you can’t miss.

    Thanks for reading…

Been around here for a long time. Sage and Way Beyond Bagels in Boca are the best bagels, bialys and appetizing places.
