For you guys who don’t know the Legend Lounge- I’m telling you that it is one of the coolest “rooms” in all of South Florida-to eat/ drink/ dance and see top notch bands and other live entertainment!
From seminolecasinococonutcreek.com:
Legends Lounge
An elevated lounge experience.
Live entertainment. Top-notch spirits & cocktails. NYY Steak’s signature dishes.
Way-back on 2/15/12 Jeff Eats told you guys about NYY Steak located in the Seminole Casino Creek Coconut Creek- in Coconut Creek. That “review” is down-below…
Long story short, since that “review” was published, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have eaten in NYY something like 5-times, with the latest “outing”- being last night. For what it’s worth, all of the meals that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have had, were all right on the money!
Last night, I got to thinking that Jeff Eats rarely if ever hears- NYY Steak mentioned in conversations about South Florida’s best steak-joints. No ifs, ands or buts- the 26oz bone-in-ribeye with grilled onions and French fries- that I had last night and didn’t come close to finishing- could easily be matched against the best of breed down here in sunny South Florida-same story for Mrs. Jeff Eats’ pan seared snapper!
Anyway,
Jeff Eats just wanted to mention NYY Steak to you guys, again…
One of the best-“upscale steakhouses” in South Florida is located at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in- Coconut Creek…That’s right, the casino where you-gotta wear an oxygen mask because the cigarette smoke is so brutal—as part of a recently completed $150,000,000 renovation/expansion has opened an absolutely georgeous looking steakhouse with fabulous food and service. You can check www.seminolecoconutcreekcasino.com for menu/prices/photos. By the way, NYY is a joint venture–Seminole Indians/New York Yankees (there is another NYY at Yankee Stadium).
NYY…New York Yankees, get it? All kinds, of New York Yankee black/white photos, autographs…no dark wood–or dim lights here…but rather, a great looking open kitchen, light oak woods, bright lights, plenty of glass. Like I said before, an absolutely gorgeous looking joint.
When you check NYY’s menu, try not to get sticker-shock…no question about it- that $51.75 24oz bone in ribeye is “high” even for an upscale steakhouse–Now, I maybe going out on a limb here, but I think- that casino-joints like NYY get a ton of customers using their casino “PLAYER’S CLUB” rewards/points to pay the bill. If I’m right—the restaurant can charge more than what most folks would consider “normal”- because many customers aren’t using real-money. So, if you go there, I think you will find that many of the “diners” are eating on-the-arm.
At this juncture of the discussion, let me tell you that NYY looks totally out of place at the Seminole Casino. Nothing for nothing, but the Seminole Casino isn’t in this boy’s opinion–an upscale looking property. Now, there may-be something more developing at the Seminole Casino that’s gonna get it looking more like the Hard Rock operation in Hollywood-so NYY may eventually make sense, but for right now, NYY looks like a fish out of water. Personally, I don’t see non-casino players making special plans/reservations to eat at NYY, despite the fact that its food is absolutely dynamite.
A recent dinner had me “doing” the aforementioned 24oz ribeye, 28oz porterhouse ($54.75), veal chop milanase ($44.50), roast chicken ($28.50), lemon pepper halibut ($31.50), steak fries ($9.50), lobster mac & cheese ($11). Every item was delicious. On the service front, excellent without the “snotty” know-it-all attitude you find at many upscale steakhouses.
There are two ways to play NYY Steak. You can gamble your heart out…and accumulate points to spend or you can just fork over cash or your credit card at the end of the meal.
NYY Steak is a homerun…pun intended!
NYY Steak is open Monday, Thursday-Sunday 5pm-11pm. The joint is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday

MCDONALD’S® USA AND KRISPY KREME® ANNOUNCE EXPANDED NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
The Golden Arches and Krispy Kreme, one of the most beloved sweet treat brands in the world, are teaming up for a national expansion. Fans will begin spotting Krispy Kreme doughnuts in their local McDonald’s restaurants later this year as part of a phased market rollout across the country. Nationwide availability at participating restaurants is expected by the end of 2026.
Three of Krispy Kreme’s most popular doughnuts will be delivered fresh to McDonald’s restaurants every day. They’ll be available individually, or in boxes of six, starting at breakfast and lasting throughout the day – while supplies last:
The iconic Original Glazed® Doughnut: A melt-in-your-mouth doughnut covered in Krispy Kreme’s signature glaze. The doughnut that started it all.
The Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut: A chocolatey twist on the original, dipped in chocolate icing and covered in rainbow sprinkles.
The Chocolate Iced Kreme™ Filled Doughnut: Made with a light, fluffy dough and filled with a smooth Kreme™ filling then dipped in chocolate icing.
This follows a successful test at 160 McDonald’s restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas where consumer excitement and demand exceeded expectations. These pilot restaurants will continue to serve Krispy Kreme doughnuts during the nationwide rollout.
“Since the launch of breakfast nearly 50 years ago, we’ve continued to offer new menu items, flavors and experiences that have made McDonald’s an irreplaceable part of fans’ morning routines,” said Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. “This partnership is an exciting next step in that journey and a chance to unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day. Our fans’ love for Krispy Kreme runs deep, and we can’t wait to make it even easier for them to satisfy their sweet tooth at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.”
“The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme,” said Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth.
To celebrate this sweet partnership, Krispy Kreme will give one FREE Original Glazed® Doughnut to all guests who visit U.S. Krispy Kreme shops between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 26).
Krispy Kreme More Than Doubles Points of Access
“Significantly, by making Kreme Krispy accessible to fans nationwide through this partnership, we expect to more than double our points of access by the end of 2026. The partnership accelerates the development of our existing Delivered Fresh Daily channel, creating operating leverage through distribution density and production utilization,” said Charlesworth.
Krispy Kreme has been scaling its supply chain, building a support team, adding technology and new equipment, and enhancing field training to support its Delivered Fresh Daily expansion, which includes this phased rollout.
Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s will provide more details regarding the nationwide rollout in the coming months. So, get ready to sweeten up your day as these delicious treats make their way to your local McDonald’s restaurant soon!

Jeff Eats was over at the Men’s Wearhouse in Boca Raton getting a new suit for an upcoming wedding–As he was being “fitted”—it suddenly hit him like a cement balloon that if he IMMEDIATELY stopped drinking Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Sunkist Orange sodas…he could literally save a “ton” (pun intended) of calories. Not being a fan of Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Diet Sunkist Orange, Diet Anything or for that matter plain old water, Jeff Eats commenced a “search” for low calorie/no calorie “drinks” that could replace his favorite high calorie sodas/juices without him knowing it. Being a food/drink “expert” with a trained palate this seemed like an extremely daunting task.
Anyway…
Returning home that afternoon–Jeff Eats told Mrs. Jeff Eats of his “plan” and she said, “Go in the garage, open the refrigerator and you will find a whole bunch of Sparkling ICE.”
Amazing as it may sound, Mrs. Jeff Eats for the past few months had been buying/drinking Sparkling ICE (a naturally flavored sparkling mountain spring water which has ZERO calories) and Jeff Eats had never even noticed. You guys out there know exactly what I’m talking about–about the “noticed” part of this story…but that’s a story for a whole nother day.
Anyway…
In the refrigerator, Jeff Eats found 13- 17oz plastic bottles of Sparklingy ICE with the following flavors…coconut pineapple, lemonade, orange mango, black raspberry, pink grapefruit, kiwi strawberry.
To make a long story short—Quoting, The Clovers’ 1950s hit record “Love Potion No. 9″…”I closed my eyes and took a drink” and I gotta tell you that the lemonade (the first bottle Jeff Eats tried)–was absolutely-positively delicious…it didn’t taste like a diet/low calorie drink. Since that initial “try” Jeff Eats has had- all of the above flavors and they were equally as good.
Trust Jeff Eats on this one…if you are looking to save some calories blah blah blah…do yourself a huge (pun intended) favor and try Sparkling ICE.
You can check www.sparklingice.com for flavors/and other stuff. By the way, if I read the website right, Sparkling ICE currently comes in 10 different flavors.
For the record, Mrs. Jeff Eats buys “our” Sparkling ICE at Publix where those 17oz bottles go for a buck a piece.
For-you guys who maybe interested, Jeff Eats just started the “4 Day Sauerkraut Diet”—let you know if it works!

Vanilla Fudge stands out as an iconic American rock band, renowned for their masterful reinterpretations of contemporary hit songs, notably exemplified by their rendition of “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.” The original lineup boasted exceptional talents, including Mark Stein, Tim Bogert, Vince Martell, and Carmine Appice. Presently, Vanilla Fudge continues to captivate audiences on their tour with three of the original quartet: Mark Stein, Vince Martell, and Carmine Appice, complemented by Pete Bremy, who assumed Tim Bogert’s role upon his retirement in 2009.
Beyond their musical prowess, Vanilla Fudge occupies a pivotal position in music history, often recognized as a critical connection between the realms of psychedelia and the burgeoning heavy metal genre. The band’s far-reaching influence extends to major acts like The Nice, Deep Purple, Yes, Styx, Led Zeppelin, and Uriah Heep.
From goldstar.com:
About Vanilla Fudge
Vanilla Fudge was one of the first American groups to infuse psychedelia into a heavy rock sound to create “psychedelic symphonic rock” an eclectic genre which would, among its many offshoots, eventually morph into heavy metal. At first, the band did not record original material, they were best known for their dramatic heavy, slowed-down arrangements of contemporary pop songs which they developed into works of epic proportion. Originally, Vanilla Fudge was a blue-eyed soul cover band called The Pigeons, formed in New Jersey in 1965. In late 1966, organist, Mark Stein, bassist, Tim Bogert and guitarist, vocalist and US Navy veteran, Vince Martell drafted drummer and vocalist, Carmine Appice, a disciple of the renowned Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck Band) and a seasoned veteran of the club scene. They re-emerged in early 1967 and started recording demos. Impressed by their heavy-rocking, trippy and psychedelic version of The Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” the band landed a deal with the Atlantic subsidiary Atco. The label, however, insisted on a name change and the band settled on Vanilla Fudge. After all, they were a white group singing and playing with the soul of the brothers.

***** Josie’s Ristorante, 1602 South Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, Florida 33435, (561) 364-9601.
Josie’s Ristorante is a “mom and pop” Southern Italian Red Sauce Joint. You know the drill, soup or salad, garlic rolls, entree and a side of pasta…pizzas, subs, calzones and strombolis. Prices are neighborhood pizzeria prices…Veal parmigiana $17.99 etc.
Over the years, I have eaten at Josie’s something like 10 times…the food is real good. I especially like Josie’s interior/atmosphere, it looks like an old bar circa 1960 with dark wood tables and booths and bar area. There is also an out-door dining patio. This is a real easy going joint, so tee shirts/shorts are a pretty common site here.
Last night I ate dinner at Josie’s. I “sampled” the veal parmigiana, veal marsala, and zuppa di pesce…everything was right on the money!
If you live in Josie’s neighborhood, this is a good joint to know about…
Josie’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
My name is Jeff. I was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. Since 1991, I have lived in South Florida and have eaten in so many restaurants down here, that I now consider myself to be a food expert.
